Aicher wins generational duel against Vonn

Aicher distanced Vonn, who is 19 years her senior, by 27 hundredths in the Italian ski resort. Ledecka is already 0.94 seconds behind the leader.

While it would be Aicher's fourth victory at the highest level, her second in the super-G, Vonn has her sights firmly set on her 145th World Cup podium. The American would thus extend her impressive series of podium finishes. In seven race starts so far this season, she has only missed out on the top three once - in fourth place in the super-G in St. Moritz.

As in Val d'Isère, the Swiss women were unable to keep up with the front runners. As the best of the five Swiss-Ski athletes who have started so far, Joana Hählen finished in 13th place.

Alice Robinson experienced a moment of shock. The New Zealander, who was leading the discipline classification going into the race, fell after the finish jump and twisted her left knee. It was not initially clear whether this was affected. Robinson was able to leave the finish area without assistance.
