Bayern Munich and Stuttgart successful, Leipzig not

Bayern Munich's win over Wolfsburg was a narrow 3-2 victory, although the hosts clearly dominated proceedings. Former Luganesi player Mohamed Amoura tried his hand at spoiling the game. The Algerian scored midway through the first half to make it 1-1 and in the closing stages with a brilliant shot from outside the box to make it 2-3.

Michael Olise (2-1 before the break) and Leon Goretzka scored for Munich. Defensive midfielder Goretzka, who is often criticized at FC Bayern, scored the 1:0 with a beautiful shot and the 3:1 with a header after Olise's cross. The leaders now have a seven-point lead over their closest rivals Leverkusen, who play Mönchengladbach later on Saturday.

In the long-distance duel for the last place in the top four, VfB Stuttgart overtook Leipzig. While Stuttgart, who were without Fabian Rieder and Leonidas Stergiou, easily overturned a 3-0 interval lead at home to SC Freiburg (4-0), Leipzig were unable to do the same in Bochum.

Leipzig, who were 3-0 up after 22 minutes, squandered their clear lead after the break in the space of just over 15 minutes. Bottom club Bochum confirmed the clear upward trend under coach Dieter Hecking. The statistically second-worst attack in the league scored three times through Dutchman Myron Boadu, who is on loan from AS Monaco.
