Four days before the second leg against Basel, Copenhagen narrowly avoids a second defeat in the championship. The team from the Danish capital drew 1-1 against Odense.

Coach Jacob Neestrup initially left a number of key players such as Mohamed Elyounoussi, Marcos Lopez and Andreas Cornelius on the bench. They were substituted in the course of the second half, as the hosts had been trailing since the 4th minute. However, the equalizer was only scored in the 88th minute by defender Gabriel Pereira, who had also scored against Basel.
