Djakovic eliminated in the heats of the 400 m crawl

The 21-year-old from Zurich clocked 3:49.77 minutes over the eight lane length, almost six seconds faster than his best performance. The German Oliver Klemet qualified for the final in eighth place with a time of 3:45.75. His compatriot Lukas Märtens was fastest in the preliminaries in 3:44.13.

Three years ago in Tokyo, Djakovic, who was making his Olympic debut at the time, finished 9th in the 400 m crawl. Most recently, the crawl specialist won the bronze medal over this distance at the European Championships in Belgrade.
