The Stanley Cup finalists of the last two years have announced that Leon Draisaitl will probably be out for the rest of the regular season due to an unspecified lower-body injury. The Canadiens do not expect the German star forward to play again until the playoffs, if they reach them in the remaining 14 games.

Draisaitl suffered the injury on Sunday in the home game (3:1) against Nashville (3:1) after a body check from Ozzy Wiesblatt. With 97 points from 65 games, Draisaitl is the fourth-best scorer in the world's best ice hockey league this season.
