Movie Actress Kerry Washington honored with a star on the Walk of Fame

US actress Kerry Washington has been honored with a star on the "Walk of Fame" in Hollywood. Washington received the 2796th star plaque on the famous sidewalk, according to the organizers.

The 47-year-old actress was accompanied at the ceremony by her parents, her husband, producer Shonda Rhimes and actor Tyler Perry.

She became famous on screen through the series "Scandal". For her role as crisis counselor Olivia Pope, Washington was nominated for a Golden Globe trophy for best actress in a TV drama series.

Washington played a slave in Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained". She has also appeared in films such as "Ray", "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" and "The Last King of Scotland".
