Ticket sales for the paid concerts exceeded expectations, the organization of the Vaud Music Festival announced in a press release on Sunday night.

One of the highlights of this year's edition was Youssou N'Dour, a representative of West African music, who brought the Chapiteau to the boil with his ensemble Super Étoile de Dakar. The headliners also included Cuban pianist Chucho Valdés, the John Scofield Trio, jazz singer Stacey Kent and trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf, according to the press release.

Legendary bands also set the rhythm of this year's edition: the R&B band The Blackbyrds delighted lovers of jazz and funk, the organizers wrote. The group Kyoto Jazz Massive contributed soul.

Diverse Swiss scene

The Swiss acts included J.NUNN, led by singer Justine Tornay. Singer-songwriter Fiona Daniel returned to the stage with a completely new instrumental line-up: piano, cello and Celtic harp.

The event invited guests to free concerts - which, according to the communiqué, ranged from experimental pop to improvised jazz - in various wine cellars. This off-festival, as the organization called it, showcased the uniqueness of the Swiss jazz and music scene.

Compared to previous years, the overall number of visitors remained stable. Over eight days, 130 concerts took place. According to the organizers, the next Cully Jazz Festival will take place from April 10 to 18, 2026.
