Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov have decided to part amicably after ten years of dating.
The couple plan to continue working together artistically in the future and are currently performing in "Turandot" at La Scala in Milan and in "Tosca" at the Arena Verona in August.
The separation marks the end of the prominent glamorous couple from the classical music scene, who met in 2014 while working on "Manon Lescaut" and married in 2015.
"After ten happy years together, we have made the difficult but amicable decision to part ways," Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov told the Austrian news agency APA in a joint statement.
They added: "We remain close friends, united in our shared love for Tiago." Netrebko's son still comes from her relationship with Erwin Schrott.
"We are looking forward to the already announced and future joint appearances." The couple also made it clear that they would continue to work together artistically in the future.
"We will not be making any further comments"
Soprano Netrebko and tenor Eyvazov can currently be seen at La Scala in Milan in "Turandot" and in August at the Arena Verona in "Tosca". "We will make no further comments and thank everyone for respecting our private lives," the couple concluded in their statement.
With this decision, the classical music business has lost its most glamorous couple. The world-class soprano with dual Austrian-Russian citizenship and the tenor from Azerbaijan met and fell in love in 2014 while working together on the opera "Manon Lescaut" in Rome.
They married in 2015. The artist couple subsequently became a fixed star on the opera stage and in the media's society coverage.
