The main stage of the "Moon&Stars" festival, the heart of the festival, is located on the Piazza Grande in the middle of Locarno's old town.
This is where main acts such as OneRepublic, Ricky Martin and Eros Ramazzotti pass the microphone to each other.
Locals also jokingly refer to the picturesque cobblestone square as "il forno", or the oven.
No wonder. The temperatures are tropically hot. A look at the weather forecast shows that the next few days will remain hot at over 30 degrees.
