Beatrice Egli and Florian Silbereisen sing together on Egli's new album "Balance".
The two pop stars have repeatedly been rumored to be in a relationship.
Beatrice Egli also deals with the death of her grandparents on the album.
Always these rumors about Beatrice Egli and Florian Silbereisen, whether they are a couple - that annoys the pop stars, at least that's what they say.
But then they come around the corner with a joint song on Egli's new album that has it all: "Only we know what's happening between us tonight", they sing in ecstatic tones. And: "Behind closed doors, I might get weak with you." Plenty of material for the rumor mill.
The 35-year-old Egli is amused by this in conversation. "Fans can do anything, they can also have fantasies," she tells the German Press Agency. Questions about her relationship are actually taboo in the interview.
But about the song? "There's speculation either way about whether we'll sing together or not. So we thought we might as well play with it a bit," says Egli with a wink and a laugh. No further information.
Beatrice Egli has a new music team
Beatrice Egli has worked with a new team for the current album. She now finds her music poppier, but also with more softer tones and different vocal colors, as she puts it. "It's not typical Schlager, but don't worry - I'm still me," she says.
"My voice is Schlager, I am Schlager and it will always stay that way." The rhymes may sometimes bump, but rhythmically the album invites you to dance more than ever.
The good mood sound remains unmistakable with the new band. And as in previous albums, there are songs for special occasions alongside many songs about hot nights of love:
"Incomparable", for example, is about solidarity among women ("We are all sisters and we stand together"). "Zwischen den Wolken" is a declaration of love for loved ones who have passed away.
Beatrice Egli lost her grandparents
Egli herself lost two of her grandparents last year. "Something like that changes your view of the finite," she says. "It gave me a boost of energy to live in the now." "Balance", the title of the album, is Egli's motto. It's about always finding balance - even if the song of the same name is about the exact opposite, namely losing your balance with your loved one.
Laughter and good humor are the trademarks of the 35-year-old, who won the RTL casting show "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" ten years ago. "The album contains a lot of fantasy and dreams," she says. "We have enough reality all day long." She deliberately wants to emphasize the positive. She reveals that she keeps gratitude books in which she writes every evening.
Egli is a permanent fixture in the German pop music business, now also with her own show on television. She also regularly appears on pop and quiz shows and has her own podcast: "Egli Extrem". In it, she meets celebrities for a chat, garnished with an adrenaline kick. And she has already shown that Egli can be "extreme" by climbing the Matterhorn in 2021 and taking part in hot mountain bike races.
But the view of finiteness has obviously also made Egli reflective. At the moment, she is fully focused on her music, but: "It doesn't always have to be like this." In an interview about an advertising appearance for an insurance company, she describes the music business as very uncertain, which is why she is putting money away for later. "Music will always be an important part of my life, but it doesn't always have to be in the public eye."
