After three years, Bligg is back on the road as a solo artist.
His new album is called "Tradition" and will be released on. October 6, 2023.
From October 21 to December 2, the dialect artist will be on a club tour through Switzerland. You can find the info here.
In 2008 I had a breakthrough with Streichmusik Alder. So it was clear to me that this string music phase had to be on the album. It was cool to have it in the intro. It's like a sunrise that leads into the album. They are also in the last song "Immer wänni hei chumm" as an outro again, which is then the sunset.
"Now it's starting again"
This is a classic bligg-humoristic uptempo number that is great to play live.
"Mosaik", featuring Aaron Asteria
For me, "Mosaik" is one of the central songs on the album. It is the continuation of the song "Musigg i dä Schwiiz". It's the second part.
But it was important to me that it didn't just come across as a copy, both musically and lyrically. That's why the musical guise is a little different. Aaron Asteria sings the chorus. He is a young singer-songwriter that I have signed.
Aaron Astoria also appears again in the song "Milky Way". It was important to me to have him on the album twice.
"Mama lugg ich cha flüüge"
One of my favorite songs on the album. I'm incredibly happy to play it live. It's such a high-energy motivational song that is forward-looking. That was my goal.
When my 8-year-old son only ever sees the best skateboard tricks on YouTube, he feels like he can't do anything. The first thing I have to tell him is that they fell 4000 times before they could do one take. We shouldn't let that blind us.
"Fabienne"
My friend and my daughter's mother is called Fabienne, the song is for her. There are films that are based on a true storyand others that are inspired by a true story. They are two different things.
"Fabienne" belongs to the category inspired by a true story. I actually met her at the bank counter, I've known her for 15 years. What's not true, of course, is that she ends up robbing a bank. I took the liberties of a songwriter. The song should also be fun for the listener.
"Uf dä Gass"
Auf der Gasse is just such a live party number.
"Soldat", Featuring M.S.G. McAuley Schenker Group
I was confronted with the subject of war as a child. My grandfather fought in Normandy. He told me a lot about it. And now it's topical again, geopolitically a war is closer to us than ever before.
At the end, the song moves to another meta-level, namely to us in Switzerland and that we live in a paradise compared to others, which is a subtle political statement.
What makes the song musically very special is the collaboration with the M.S.G. McAuley Schenker Group. They are a German-American rock band. I can proudly say that I have a bigger American rock band from the 80s on the album. Cool, very cool!
"S'Quartier"
The song is about big changes and how to cope with them. That's a big part of our lives.
«I was confronted with the subject of war as a child»
"Passenger"
Is a song about our current time in life. In other words, our journey through life. I used a train as a symbol, with a station that symbolizes the birthing room, so to speak.
We get on the train at different stations on our journey through life, but we all arrive at the same terminus.
"Liebi repariere"
I found the idea of wanting to repair love exciting. Fighting for love, fighting for a relationship. It occurred to me that the man symbolically needs tools from the building center to do this. For example, using a spirit level to straighten a crooked house. It is meant symbolically.
"Milchstrass", featuring Aaron Asteria
"Milchstrass" is an important song for me because it's one of the central songs I wrote with Aaron. It's also the first single we released. The song itself is not so typical of Bligg, which I also find exciting. Both musically and lyrically. It's about a big topic: our transience. I'm very curious to see how it sounds live.
"Monschter"
This is a song that also deals with an everyday topic. Monschter" refers to the pressure of expectations, the pressure of society. You can see it as a hamster wheel analogy in which we all move.
"Gentleman"
"Gentlemen" is an absolute comic number, a really exaggerated number, a Bligg number like you might have heard before.
It's about a guy who is chumming up to his wife with all the clichés you know. I've often observed this phenomenon of ingratiation in my life. You can only lose.
"Immer wänni ich hei chum", Featuring Streichmusik Alder
The final song with Streichmusik Alder is a kind of sunset to bring "Tradition" to a close.
"Tradition", Bligg's new solo album, will be released on October 6, 2023. From October 21 to December 2, the dialect musician will be on a club tour through Switzerland. You can find all the info here.
