They have already graced the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2013; on Sunday evening, July 7, Editors will be back on Lake Geneva and are looking forward to playing in Switzerland again.
"We've always had good shows in Switzerland. Being surrounded by such beautiful scenery - it's almost like being on vacation," says drummer Ed Lay in an interview with blue News.
The guys from Editors came together when they went to university in Birmingham.
Ed Lay: "Never made anything we thought was shit"
Since the 2000s, Editors have been proving that they are far from finished with their mix of post-punk, new wave, rock and electronic music.
The band has grown since then, the music has changed.
Ed Lay says: "We are convinced of what we do. We've never done anything that we thought was shit. Many bands have done that and regretted it."
The future isn't written at the moment, adds guitarist Elliott Williams, "and that's pretty great. We want to stay fresh and exciting."
Elliott Williams: "There's always a catch"
Sex, drugs and rock'n'roll - what's really behind life as a rock star? The Editors boys think that being on the road is the best part. "There's something boring about the actual traveling, but waking up the next day in a new city is great," says Elliott Williams.
What they brand as totally overrated: "Five-star hotels!" A place where you pay 30 euros for internet, even though it should be included. Elliott Williams is convinced: "There's always a catch."
Before the guys from Editors treat their Swiss fans to a live show at the Montreux Jazz Festival, they talk to blue News about the band's development and future plans.
In the video, you can also find out whether they think instant noodles are overrated and what they think of pets.
