Florian Silbereisen is losing market share with his pop shows.
The 42-year-old recently couldn't even keep up with the ZDF crime thriller "Ein starkes Team".
This trend has already become apparent at recent events.
Florian Silbereisen has been working in television for 20 years. ARD has therefore dedicated a surprise show to him - but this "never-before-seen" program falls far short of expectations.
As "Schlager.de" writes, "Deutschland fremd" (Germany is a stranger).
Only just under four million people tuned in to Silbereisen's show, compared to more than seven million who tuned in to the ZDF crime show "Ein starkes Team" at the same time.
That was "a defeat for the always so stiff and cheerful Silbereisen".
His guests have included Thomas Anders, Barbara Schöneberger and Howard Carpendale - names that appeal to pop fans and with whom the presenter has worked on several occasions.
Silbereisen's popularity seems to be waning, and ARD has also published figures on this. His market share is shrinking.
