"One day baby, we'll be old (...) and think of all the stories that we could have told", this song line made Asaf Avidan world-famous. Because the Berlin DJ Wankelmut turned his "Reckoning Song" into a remix, many more people now know the name of the Israeli singer.
The fact that he is better known for this song line than for his actual works still bothers the folk musician to this day, as he has confessed several times in interviews. "Remixes in general, and this one in particular, always have something very reductive about them," explains Asaf Avidan in an interview with blue News. Vocal prodigy and multi-instrumentalist
The musician's aim is to create something honest for his fans. "And through that honesty, maybe people can find something honest in themselves."
If he had a time machine, he would want to travel back in time to rewrite the history of the "One Day" hype.
Asaf Avidan is a vocal prodigy, artist, storyteller and multi-instrumentalist. At his solo performances, the folk musician takes his fans on an unmistakable journey. His voice, which is somewhere between tenor and alto, would be mistakenly assigned to a woman without looking.
This year he is playing at the Montreux Jazz Festival for the third time. In the video, he tells us that he is nervous before his performance.
