The backstage area at Zermatt Unplugged is a small, charming feel-good paradise. Artists relax in an inconspicuous yurt right next to the main stage before facing the audience. Some acts have the most bizarre requests.

No time? blue News summarizes for you

  • At Zermatt Unplugged, a yurt serves as a backstage area - lovingly furnished and very popular with artists.
  • In addition to snacks and drinks, acts have the most bizarre wishes for what they want backstage. for conversation.
  • One band wanted 7 puppies. Zermatt Unplugged fulfilled this wish in its own way.

Between soundcheck and concert, the artists at the Zermatt Unplugged Festival seek a moment of peace and quiet - and find it in the small yurt right next to the main stage. What looks like a makeshift structure is actually a cozy retreat with living room charm: decorations, snacks, drinks and lots of attention to detail.

Because there is not enough space in the main tent for a classic backstage area, the festival has found a creative solution. First it was an old circus wagon, now it's a yurt - festival booker Christoph Spicher tells us in an interview.

In a so-called rider, artists can record what they need backstage - often certain drinks and sometimes bizarre special requests.

How the wish for seven puppies is fulfilled

One band at Zermatt Unplugged asked for seven puppies. The saddest of them was to be given to the drummer.

The festival team fulfilled the wish in a creative way: with printed photos of puppies. And yes, the drummer naturally got the saddest puppy. The band took it with humor.

This year, one superstar had a particularly charming wish: a pre-franked postcard from Zermatt. Amy Macdonald made the wish. To whom the card was addressed remains her little secret.

This shows how much heart and soul goes into the festival backstage - and that even unusual wishes are not always fulfilled seriously, but always creatively.
