    Please don't forget your sunscreen

Many guests don't wear a shirt in the heat - and that's fine. But then the skin should also be well protected. Ideally with sun protection factor 50. Don't neglect it, otherwise you could soon look like the guests in the video.

    Summer, sun, sweat

Whether in the ball pit, at the water tap or at the party in front of the stage - Frauenfeld doesn't let the sweltering heat slow it down. In the large picture gallery you can see the guests in their element.

This is how the musicians celebrated

Nina Chuba, Luciano, Swiss rapper Gigi and headliner Travis Scott put the audience in a party mood and gave them the best cheers.

Bonez MC & RAF Camora are still on the program today, with Stormzy from England as the final headliner, who will make the speakers vibrate one last time at midnight.

    Kendrick Lamar with little energy

At 11.50 pm on Friday evening, the time had finally come: Kendrick Lamar strode onto the stage, alone, wearing a bomber jacket and pink pants.

Almost all the Frauenfeld visitors flocked to the South Stage as he started his first song. Over the course of the concert, he is supported by background dancers - one more with each new song.

Kendrick Lamar is still wearing his bomber jacket in the warm temperatures at midnight: the US American plays for a good hour at Openair Frauenfeld.

The spark with the audience is limited: Particularly during his hits such as "Humble" or "Money Trees", you can feel the energy in the guests too, Lamar himself is only restrained. This was the case throughout the entire concert, which lasted a good hour.

He closes with the words: "Know this: We will be back!" - "Be sure: we will be back!". And he hands out signed notes to the front row before retiring to the backstage area.

    Nina Chuba loves Aromat

In the shadow of the South Stage at Openair Frauenfeld, 24-year-old rapper Nina Chuba strides onto the stage - to jeering fans.

The audience gets even louder when Chuba admits: "I like Aromat best".

In the clip below, you can see for yourself what she wants from the Swiss guests at her shows here in Switzerland: namely an Aromat gift.

    There can't be enough shade

The temperature rises to over 30 degrees, the federal government has issued a heat warning. But the party atmosphere at Frauenfeld doesn't let up.

The crowd knows how to cool down and seek the shade - or enjoy the icy cold in front of the ice cream.

At least there is a light breeze. Water pistols are still loaded, wet towels are placed on heads and cold drinks are consumed. Still, the heat and sun is a thousand times better than rain!

Travis Scott lets his hair down

It's common knowledge that the American performs almost in ecstasy at his live shows. At the OAF, he also puts the pedal to the metal and climbs onto a chrome BMW on his stage.

He fires up the audience and rocks on the car. The audience can hardly contain themselves at midnight on Thursday.

You can see a few more impressions of his show at Openair Frauenfeld 2023 in the picture gallery above.

Loredana and Karim Adeyemi stroll across the grounds

They have just made their love public and are already showing off together in Frauenfeld. The BVB star and the rapper enjoy the festival on the Grosse Allmend and stroll through the crowd.

It should always be this neat and tidy

The festival on the Grosse Allmend is long. There is plenty of space for tents, but you can't do as you please. There has to be order with pavilions, individual tents or even glamping.

In the pictures you can see the tent city that stretches as far as the eye can see at Openair Frauenfeld.

Together with countless other journalists, we are in the backstage area - yes, also where the artists are up to mischief. But you rarely get to see them.

A fridge, air conditioning, internet and a few tables and chairs are all the blue crew need to function. This is where they shoot, edit, type - and talk a lot of nonsense.

The temperature is rising, cooling is at hand

It's going to be a sunny Openair in Frauenfeld, it's already warm on Wednesday - by the weekend the temperatures will rise to over 30 degrees.

As a result, shirts are often missing at the OAF, many visitors are armed with water pistols and, of course, there is a freely accessible water tap.

Nevertheless, EAZ manages to heat up the audience even more and motivate the Frauenfeld to dance with bombastic bass.

    Kick-off with Travis Scott

When Texan Travis Scott made his international breakthrough with his album "Rodeo", newcomer Central Cee from London was just 17 years old. Now the newcomer warms up the audience before the rap heavyweight takes to the stage.

Scott has gone six times platinum with his three studio albums to date - in his home country, the USA. Central Cee, who attracted national attention in 2020, made his breakthrough a year later. Although he has "only" gone double gold so far, an invitation to the OAF and a performance shortly before Travis Scott should continue to give him a boost on the international market.

Musically, the young Central Cee is oriented towards the Tiktok culture through which he grew up. Scott, on the other hand, adapts his style more to his predecessors - less to Gen Z. Which of course does not detract from his uniqueness.

    It's been a while

My last visit to Openair Frauenfeld was in 2010, just over a decade ago. Back then, the headliners were Eminem and Jay-Z - although these rap greats are still relevant today, they are no longer in the spotlight. There is also very little new music from either of them.

People couldn't hold their breath when the then new song "Not Afraid" was played at the OAF. Of course, Eminem also played his older hits such as "My Name Is".

This year's headliners are Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar and Stormzy. In the meantime, I'm not really up to date with what these artists have been up to in recent years - except for Kendrick Lamar.

I've been listening to his music for some time now, all his albums are on repeat. And I've never seen him live! That will change in 2023. The 36-year-old will take to the stage at midnight on Friday, July 7, and I will definitely be listening. And I'm hoping for this song.

I could actually name countless songs by him here. But one of the best known is and remains the one above.

I hope he tears up the stage.
