  • Despite demonstrations, the Rammstein concerts take place in Vienna, with Till Lindemann ending the first of the two with the words: "You were fantastic."
  • Before the concert, 1,800 people protest against the performance.
  • Meanwhile, two ORF journalists were attacked and had to be taken under police protection.

Despite the accusations against frontman Till Lindemann, Rammstein continue their tour. On Wednesday, they stopped in Vienna, where they will perform again on Thursday, July 27.

The band played their concert in front of 60,000 fans, supported by many fans who held up various signs with messages such as "We stand by you". This was reported by "20 Minuten".

Lindemann himself thanked Vienna at the end of the gig: "You were fantastic!"

Demonstration against Rammstein concert

However, according to two ORF journalists, the atmosphere was very aggressive, especially before the show and outside the stadium. Not least because of around 1,800 protesters who vented their displeasure in the afternoon before the concert. Several groups had formed in the course of the accusations against Rammstein. For example #KeineBühne or #aufstehn. The latter had started an online petition to prevent the concerts.

The entire protest campaign took place under the motto "No stage for alleged perpetrators". Campaign leader Philine Dressler said: "We are of the opinion that the concerts are not a safe place until all incidents have been clarified."

"We are under police protection"

During the demonstration, the two ORF journalists were also attacked, according to their own statement: Dietmar Petschl and his camerawoman had experienced the anger of the fans: "It's very strange now after the concert," says Petschl, "the atmosphere is extremely aggressive and heated. There have been several fights and we are actually standing outside the stadium under police protection because me and my camerawoman have been attacked several times."

According to the ORF reporter, the concert will still take place on Thursday evening, as there is no legal decision in the case. The contracts with the band would have to be honored. The presumption of innocence still applies to singer Till Lindemann.
