Festival confessions from Lo & Leduc "Taking drinks inside is not smuggling"

Lo & Leduc are perennial favorites at Swiss open air festivals. But what about the Bernese duo's personal festival experience? What experiences have they had backstage or as Gurten-goers in the past?

No time? blue News summarizes for you

  • The Gurtenfestival is taking place for the 40th time on Bern's local mountain from July 12 to 16.
  • The Bernese hit duo Lo & Leduc will be headlining on Saturday.
  • In the blue Music studio, the two talk about their own festival experiences.

For a duo from Bern, it almost goes without saying that Lo & Leduc used to be in the Gurtenfestival audience themselves. The pair even camped there; and like most festival campers from earlier years, they camped in "a rather steep spot", as Luc "Leduc" Oggier recalls. "But it was kind of steep everywhere."

The two also traded festival wristbands for free entry or smuggled in drinks. Although Oggier objects to the latter "confession": "That's not smuggling - you're allowed to take drinks in. You just have to be smart and mix in something good."

Photo request ruined star moment

The successful duo can now usually be found on and behind the stages of the big Swiss festivals rather than in front of them. It goes without saying that meetings with declared idols happen there. In Luc Oggier's case, however, this was not necessarily a good experience: "I once met Questlove (drummer from The Roots, known from the house band of the 'Jimmy Fallon Late Night Show' - editor's note)."

That was one of the few moments when the "079" singer asked someone for a photo, says Oggier. "I regretted that enormously later - because it ruined that special moment."

You can find out what other special open-air experiences Lo & Leduc talked about in the video interview from the blue Music studio at the Gurtenfestival.
