The free sale for the comeback tour of the legendary Britpop band Oasis has started.

Hundreds of thousands want to try their luck: Accompanied by problems and long queues on the ticket platforms, the free sale for the comeback tour of the legendary Britpop band Oasis has started.
Several websites were temporarily unavailable or only partially accessible around the start of sales for the 17 concerts in the UK and Ireland this morning, while elsewhere fans were stuck at the back of the queue behind hundreds of thousands of other interested people.
"Today is gonna be the day of not getting tickets", wrote one user on the online platform X, echoing the famous first words of the Oasis classic "Wonderwall". Another user joked: "Sure, only half a million people ahead of me in the queue for Oasis tickets, I'm very optimistic!"
The band itself had previously spoken of "unprecedented demand", but also warned against unauthorized resale of concert tickets at inflated prices. Tickets appearing outside of the official sales platforms were either counterfeit or would be canceled by the organizers, the group explained on X after the start of sales. Previously, pre-sale tickets had sometimes been offered for 40 times the actual price of a standing room ticket, as reported by the BBC, among others.
Oasis announced their reunion on Tuesday - almost 15 years to the day after singer Liam Gallagher (51) and guitarist Noel Gallagher (57) ended their collaboration after the brothers fell out. "The long wait is over," they announced on social media. Interest in the band is now huge: Oasis' streams quadrupled in Germany within a day of the announcement, as GfK Entertainment reported on request.
An initial 15 concerts are planned in the UK and two more in the Irish capital Dublin in summer 2025. After the kick-off on July 4 and 5 in Cardiff, Wales, the band plans to play five concerts each in Oasis' home city of Manchester and London's Wembley Stadium, as well as three in the Scottish capital Edinburgh, before concluding in Dublin. There is also speculation about a world tour, for example to the USA.
Oasis became famous 30 years ago with the album "Definitely Maybe". To mark the anniversary, the band released a birthday edition, which includes outtakes as well as demo and alternative versions of the songs.
Different ticket prices
Tickets for the reunion tour cost the equivalent of at least 81 francs for a seated ticket, while standing tickets cost at least 164 francs. It was expected that the concerts would sell out quickly.
Some fans already had the chance to secure tickets on Friday evening. They were able to apply for a so-called pre-sale and then try to get hold of a ticket using a special code.
Oasis is considered one of the most successful bands in British music history. With songs such as "Wonderwall", "Don't Look Back in Anger" and "Supersonic", the group from Manchester shaped the 1990s.
