The Bernese cult band Züri West are back in the recording studio.
In an Instagram post, the musicians around frontman Kuno Launer announce a new song entitled "Weni z'Bärn am Fänschter stah".
In the video, the song is played to people on the street through headphones. The enthusiasm of the fans is great. However, the song is not (yet) available to Instagram users.
"Yes, Züri West is in the recording studio"
The test listeners rave about the "cool bassline" and the characteristic Hammond organ. One listener says "awesome", one listener says "that's really good".
"Yes, Züri West is in the recording studio," Sylvie Widmer from the production label Sound Service confirms to Blick, adding that new music will be released soon.
Celebrity fans have also already reacted to the news. "OMG" writes Dabu Bucher from Dabu Fantastic on Instagram and singer Jaël notes "wott o!".
Stephan Eicher sent lots of emojis to express his joy and radio presenter Judith Wernli felt "purlimunteri Vorfreud".
Kuno Lauener has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis
The Instagram post is said to be a first harbinger of the upcoming release. Züri West are said to be planning to announce further information soon.
The Bernese band had been quiet for a long time. Their last studio album to date, "Love", was released in 2017 and was followed by an extensive live tour.
In 2021, it became known that frontman Kuno Lauener had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2017.
According to Blick, the illness forced the singer and the whole band to rethink their work rhythm and perspectives.
