In the pre-recorded footage broadcast on Wednesday evening, Catherine and Charlotte can be seen sitting side by side at the piano. Together they play an excerpt from a piece by Scottish composer Erland Cooper - Catherine with her left hand, Charlotte right-handed.
The performance by mother and daughter is part of a repeat of the traditional Christmas concert "Together at Christmas" in Westminster Abbey, to which Catherine was invited at the beginning of December. The duet of mother and daughter on the piano was recorded at Windsor Castle and preceded the TV repeat on December 24. The recording was not shown during the first broadcast.
Catherine is one of the most popular members of the British royal family. She has three children with Prince William, the elder son of King Charles III: twelve-year-old George, ten-year-old Charlotte and seven-year-old Louis. In September, she announced that she had completed her chemotherapy after suffering from cancer.
