The originally planned closure of the Universitätsring is therefore not necessary, the City of Vienna Marketing announced on Monday evening. Public transport was also not affected by any closures.
Due to significantly lower temperatures, the maximum possible capacity of around 30,000 visitors is currently not expected to be utilized, which is why the closure of the Ringstrasse is not necessary, it said.
However, there were no changes to the program planned from 2 p.m. in the ESC Village. On Monday evening, the official party location of the 70th Eurovision Song Contest was evacuated due to a storm warning.
