Art City of Zurich challenges change to the purpose of the Bührle Foundation
The City of Zurich has lodged an appeal with the Administrative Court against a change in the purpose of the Bührle Foundation. It is demanding a legal review of the decision.

The appeal is directed against the decision of the BVG and Foundation Supervisory Authority of the Canton of Zurich (BVS), which had approved the amendment to the Bührle Foundation's deed, as the City of Zurich announced on Wednesday.
The amendment to the deed concerns the purpose of the foundation. The City of Zurich is no longer mentioned in it. The city is surprised that the BVS has agreed to this change of purpose, it writes.
"In order to protect the interests of the city of Zurich and the people of Zurich", it wants to have the BVS's decision legally reviewed. The city sees itself as a so-called "beneficiary" of the foundation. The city of Zurich has also made considerable investments in connection with the permanent loan of the foundation's works in the Chipperfield building of the Kunsthaus Zürich.
