The exhibition was particularly notable for the range of works on display, said the castle's director, Philippe Duvanel, on Monday. It was not only the character Titeuf, who made Zep famous, who was on show at the castle. A wide range of other drawings, original pieces and documents by the artist, whose real name is Philippe Chappuis, were also on display.
Asterix takes the lead
In 2025, Saint-Maurice Castle will be dedicated to the French comic hero Asterix from April 5 to November 16. According to the press release, this is the first major exhibition on the character created by author René Goscinny and illustrator Albert Uderzo in Switzerland.
It takes visitors back in time to the beginnings of the comic series. There is also a focus on Asterix's journey to the Helvetians.
Asterix is considered an icon of francophone comics. Today, the little hero from Gaul can look back on a history spanning more than 65 years. This includes 40 albums, which have been translated into 117 languages and dialects, as well as 16 animated and feature films.
