Art market Dalí painting sold for almost three million francs at auction in Basel

At the Beurret - Bailly - Widmer auction of modern and contemporary art in Basel, Salvador Dalí's painting "Solitude paranoïaque-critique" went for 2.4 million Swiss francs.

Including the surcharge for the auction house, the unnamed European collector had to pay 2.97 million francs for the painting from 1935, which measures just 19 by 23 centimeters. The estimated price was between 1.5 and 2 million francs.

All in all, the auction house achieved a total result of 7 million francs on June 19, as it announced on Monday.
