Pop titan Dieter Bohlen (71, "Cheri Cheri Lady") has married his long-term partner Carina Walz, according to the German newspaper "Bild". According to the report, the two tied the knot on New Year's Eve afternoon shortly before sunset in the Maldives after 20 years together.

"Carina wanted it that way. Then every year on New Year's Eve, we not only have a party, but also our wedding day, which I will definitely never forget. I think it's beautiful," the musician is quoted as saying. Pictures and videos of the wedding can be seen on Bohlen's Instagram account. The caption reads: "We got married", followed by four hearts.

The pictures show the couple dressed in white on the beach under a blue sky and between palm trees. Walz wears a floor-length lace dress with a high leg slit, while Bohlen wears a linen shirt and trousers. "Our son Maxi took the photos of us as a bridal couple," Bohlen told Bild. Bohlen and Walz have two children together.

Bohlen couldn't think of a good line on his first meeting with Carina

In a video posted on Instagram from Mallorca, the entertainer once said that he was standing at the bar of a disco in Cala Rajada, "surrounded by lots of pretty girls", when Carina suddenly appeared and ordered a drink. "I had this crazy line: "Hey, what are you going to order?", said Bohlen and offered encouragement: "Even if you don't have a line, it can work."
