A year and a half after his farewell to the big stage, Elton John has thrilled fans with a sold-out concert in London. Together with US singer Brandi Carlile, he performed several songs from their joint album "Who Believes In Angels?".

In front of an audience of around 2,200 at the London Palladium, the duo performed a total of 15 songs - classics from Sir Elton's decades-long career such as "Tiny Dancer", "Bennie And The Jets" and "I'm Still Standing" as well as songs by eleven-time Grammy winner Carlile ("The Story"). The duo was accompanied by the drummer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chad Smith, and star producer Andrew Watt on guitar, among others.

Sir Elton in top musical form

At the age of 78, Elton John - as usual in a colorful suit and sunglasses - was in top form despite his limited mobility. The pop and rock legend has difficulty walking following an accident.

He impressed his audience, including Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, Hollywood star Jason Momoa ("Aquaman") and comedian Sasha Baron Cohen ("Borat"), both vocally and with his piano playing, and received several ovations. The concert in the traditional theater was recorded for a television broadcast.

In July 2023, Elton John gave the last concert of his farewell tour "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" in Stockholm. He had already said at the time that he would no longer do any major tours, but would return to the piano for individual performances. He played a benefit concert in Venice in December 2023. The album "Who Believes In Angels?" will be released on April 4 on Island EMI Records.
