At the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) in Basel, the two presenters Sandra Studer and Hazel Brugger landed a veritable hit with "Made in Switzerland". The song will be available on all major music streaming platforms from Friday.

The peeler, instant coffee, LSD and of course the Eurovision Song Contest - Switzerland invented it all. The song "Made in Switzerland" tells the story with a self-deprecating wink. The song was so well received by the public that it was already clear at the first semi-final: this is the secret winner's song.

Three weeks after its premiere and after being viewed more than 1.7 million times on YouTube, the song is available on all major music streaming platforms, as the ESC organizers at SRG announced on Thursday.

And: "Made in Switzerland" is actually less of a song and more of a five-minute mini-musical. The piece was composed by Lukas Hobi, artistic director and singer of the comedy a cappella group "Bliss". The story and text were written by Christian Knecht, who also appeared on stage as Einstein himself. Rolf Sommer is behind the direction and staging.
