Several hundred fans of the Swiss women's national team marched through Basel towards the stadium on Wednesday evening. However, the rolling sculpture "Klamauk" by Jean Tinguely broke down after just a few meters and came to a halt at the Münsterplatz meeting point.

However, the football fans in red shirts were not deterred by this incident or the heat, as a reporter from the Keystone-SDA news agency observed at the scene. Shouting "Hopp Schwiz", they moved on towards St. Jakob-Park, where the first match against Norway will take place at 21:00. Some Norway fans also joined the procession.
The original plan was for the "Klamauk" sculpture from 1979 to lead the fan march. However, the tractor equipped with bells and cymbals failed to start in front of the cathedral. The reason was a technical defect in the gears, according to a spokeswoman for the Tinguely Museum. The restorer will now clarify the exact causes so that the "Klamauk" can hopefully be used for the finale on July 27.
