The Valais fashion designer Kévin Germanier and founder of the eponymous brand will be given a Carte Blanche for the first time at the Mudac design museum on Plateforme 10 in Lausanne. In this way, the museum aims to provide an insight into the themes that accompany the designer's work.

Since the last ESC in Basel at the latest, Kévin Germanier hardly needs any introduction. He has dressed the three hosts, and previously international celebrities such as Beyoncé and Lady Gaga. The basis of his work is that sustainability and elegance are not mutually exclusive. He uses discarded fabrics and pearls in his creations.

The Mudac in Lausanne now gives the 33-year-old the opportunity to explore the museum space in a new way. On 300 square meters, both drawings he made as a seven-year-old and his latest haute couture collection are on display.

"It's dynamic, it's colorful," Germanier told the media on Wednesday. The name of the exhibition, "Les Monstrueuses", is a little gag that refers to the French-speaking Swiss expressions "monstre cool, monstre bien" (meaning: super cool, super good).

Germanier has been a fixture at Paris Fashion Week since 2020. In January of this year, he presented his brand's first fashion show in the French capital. The Carte Blanche for Germanier puts "Swiss innovations in the spotlight on the international stage", writes Mudac.

"Les Monstrueuses" can be seen from November 7 to March 22.
