This was announced by Rösti's Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC) on Wednesday. Rösti will take part in Federal Council meetings after the operation, but initially by telephone.

However, all public appearances, trips and external appointments of the Environment and Transport Minister will be canceled or postponed for the duration of the recovery phase, according to the statement.

Rösti's official deputy is Defense Minister Martin Pfister. As far as possible, individual appointments will be made by the office directors or other employees, the Uvek wrote.
