Streaming Fifth season of "Stranger Things": parallels to Harry Potter
The first four episodes of the fifth season of the series "Stranger Things" are available on Netflix. The similarities with the Harry Potter saga, especially the connection between the protagonist and evil, are becoming increasingly clear.

The fifth season of the series by brothers Matt and Ross Duffer once again focuses on the character of Will Byers. In the first season (2016), he was abducted by the monster Vecna and taken to the underworld, a dimension that exists parallel to the human world.
There, without knowing it, Will develops a connection to his adversary that is strongly reminiscent of the relationship between Harry Potter and Voldemort in J.K. Rowling's saga: Harry is also initially unaware of his relationship with "You Know Who", but becomes so over the course of the saga.
While Will's closeness to Vecna manifests itself through a pain in his neck, for Harry it is the scar on his forehead in the form of a lightning bolt that burns when Voldemort is nearby.
Visions of the antagonist
The relationship between the protagonist and the antagonist arises mainly through visions: Will sees through the eyes of the Demogorgons, creatures of the underworld controlled by Vecna, while Vecna herself takes advantage of the connection. This is an obvious parallel to Harry Potter, who perceives Voldemort's actions because a fragment of the dark wizard's soul is present within him.
In the fourth episode of the fifth season of "Stranger Things", entitled "The Wizard", the reference becomes abundantly clear: Will learns to use his connection to Vecna to his advantage, much like Harry Potter later in his story.
The fifth season of "Stranger Things" started on Netflix on November 27, with the first four episodes; five to seven will follow on December 26 and the finale is scheduled for January 1. According to previous announcements, the fifth season will be the last.
