Frederick Lau, known from Hard Shell Gentle Heart, recently took part in a charity event in Greece. The EAGLES Charity Club e.V., run by Anke Huber and Christian Neureuther, raised an impressive 360,000 euros for charity over two evenings.
Reports of alleged misconduct
Despite the success of the event, Lau hit the headlines. According to the Münchner Abendzeitung newspaper, he allegedly got into a drunken argument with other guests. An eyewitness reported that his behavior was the topic of conversation. Lau himself did not comment directly on the allegations, but had his lawyer take a stand. She explained that the gala was a private event for invited guests and that Lau was attending as a guest, not as an actor. She emphasized: "It is none of the public's business whether and how much alcohol our client has consumed."
Openly dealing with alcohol problems
Frederick Lau is known for his open approach to alcohol problems. In the film 'One for the Road', he played a drinker, which brought up the subject again and again in interviews. He told blue News that he hasn't drunk alcohol for two and a half years. "I was a binge drinker," he confessed, describing how he changed under the influence of alcohol.
