  • TV presenter Klaas Heufer-Umlauf is embarrassingly ignored at the Germany-Switzerland match when national coach Julian Nagelsmann ignores him in favor of his brother.
  • A viral video shows the interaction, with Klaas' calm reaction and humor being celebrated on social media.
  • Klaas jokes about the event on X and Instagram, drawing ironic comparisons with a picture of himself and Toni Kroos.

Of course, the European Football Championship also attracts various celebrities who don't miss the chance to turn up at the stadium. But relying on being recognized can sometimes be embarrassing.

German TV presenter Klaas Heufer-Umlauf had to painfully realize this during the match between Germany and Switzerland, which ended in a 1:1 draw. After the narrow draw, national coach Julian Nagelsmann runs towards the front row. Klaas holds out his hand to congratulate him and probably has a quick chat.

Nagelsmann shakes his hand, but then immediately pushes him aside to go to someone behind the presenter. Klaas - embarrassed - takes a sip of beer and lets the moment pass. Turns out it was Nagelsmann's brother behind the ProSieben face.

Klaas reacts calmly and thinks it's funny

Cameras are aimed at celebrities. A user on X recorded the interaction and published it on social media. The clip of Klaas goes viral.

Various comments can be found under the video: "The way he sips his beer! Delicious!" or "Someone is deeply offended. Mr. Nagelsmann doesn't even know Klaas Heufer-Umlauf". Others take a sarcastic tone: "Now Klaas has actually made me laugh!".

In response, Klaas himself posts on X that he is now on his way to Herzogenaurach - where the German team is training. Even Boris Becker responded to the tweet with a simple "lol".

In an Instagram story, Heufer-Umlauf went into even more detail about the interaction and wrote: "After a warm welcome with Julian Nagelsmann, I go through the game with him minute by minute. He was very excited, but grateful." The twist? The picture shows Klaas with player Toni Kroos and not the national coach - a sideswipe because he wasn't recognized.
