US music star John Legend (46) fears for the political future of his country under President Donald Trump. "I think we still have a democracy, but we're seeing the beginnings of a slide into an authoritarian system of government," he said in Munich.

"If we go there, no one will be safe anymore, especially those who choose to speak out, who choose to dissent. It becomes a risk to their lives and livelihoods. We've seen it in other countries and it could happen here if we're not careful," the musician told German news agency DPA.
He wants to raise his voice
The singer ("All of Me") was a supporter of the Democrats last year and performed at one of their party conventions - and he wants to continue fighting against Trump. "We have a political leader right now that I totally disagree with and we're running a political program that I strongly disagree with," he told DPA.
"I will continue to speak out and get involved." So far, he said, he has mainly been involved at local and state level. "But when the time is right, I will also speak out on national issues if I think I can make a difference."
The 46-year-old, who is married to model Christine Teigen (39), plans to perform in Munich's Olympiahalle on June 7. Together with his band, he will be presenting his album "Get Lifted" and celebrating its 20th anniversary. It is the only concert in Germany on his tour this year. No concert is planned in Switzerland.
