The actor and director hinted at the planned world premiere in September in an Instagram story.

His production company IN.2 wrote on the X platform that they were excited to celebrate the premiere of the film at the 72nd festival in the northern Spanish city. "Modi" is screening there out of competition.

Thanks to Al Pacino

For the film about the Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani (1884 - 1920), Depp brought Bruno Gouery and Al Pacino in front of the camera alongside lead actor Riccardo Scamarcio. The film revolves around three eventful days in the life of the painter, who lived in Paris during the First World War. In January, Depp showed the first photos of the project and thanked Pacino (84) for bringing the project to his attention.

It is Depp's second directorial work after "The Brave" (1997). As an actor, he was last seen in the costume drama "Jeanne du Barry" (2023).

The "Festival Internacional de Cine de San Sebastián" is the most important film festival in Spain. The 72nd edition takes place from September 20 to 28. The main prize, the "Golden Shell", is named after the shape of the bay on which the Basque metropolis is located.
