The Lucerne Theater Foundation Board has chosen an internal solution for Ina Karr's successor: Katja Langenbach, previously Director of Drama, and Wanda Puvogel, previously Director of Dance, will lead the artistic direction together from the 2026/27 season. This was announced to the media by the Board of Trustees on Monday.
Katja Langenbach studied dramaturgy at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich and at Columbia University in New York. She has been acting director at Lucerne Theater since 2021.
Wanda Puvogel has headed the dance department at Lucerne Theater since 2021. She once studied violin and later moved backstage. She has been active in various areas of dance for over three decades.
The aim of the co-directors is to continue the successful artistic development and further strengthen the theater's o-creative approach, it was said at the media conference.
Ina Karr has headed the Lucerne Theater since the 2021/22 season, having previously worked at the Nationaltheater Mannheim, the Oldenburg State Theater and the Mainz State Theater Opera, among others. Karr will leave the theater at the end of the 2025/26 season.
