Internet Netflix brings portrait clips to smartphone app
In future, Netflix will show clips from the streaming giant's range in portrait format in its smartphone app. The idea behind this is to make it easier for users to search for films and series that interest them.

The Clips section will initially be introduced in the USA, the UK and seven other countries, with more to follow, Netflix announced.
The function is structured a little like a video app: Scrolling is vertical. Films and series can be added directly from the clips section to the personal Netflix list and forwarded to friends. Netflix is responding to the fact that smartphone users often see excerpts from the streaming provider's program on TikTok, for example.
The image sections are adapted to portrait format. Netflix also wants to select different fragments for different users, adapted to their interests. Excerpts from podcasts and the Netflix live program will follow later, according to reports.
