The presenter and philosopher already teaches alongside his work in television. In future, he will also work independently as an expert, author and presenter, according to a statement from Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen SRF on Thursday.

Bossart will continue to work for SRF until summer 2026. He has been editor and producer of the "Sternstunde Philosophie" format since 2013. The weekly program features discussions with personalities from the worlds of culture, science and politics and deals with contemporary issues. He has also hosted it since 2017.

Yves Bossart has also helped shape other SRF formats, as detailed in the press release. These include the online format "Bleisch&Bossart", the audio format "Giiget's?", in which current topics from everyday life are discussed, and the SRF talk show "Focus".

The decision was not easy for him, the presenter is quoted as saying in the press release. "I was able to give philosophy a face and bring it to the people." Now a new chapter is beginning, "with some uncertainties. But that's part of life."

Yves Bossart's successor has not yet been appointed. The position will be advertised in the next few days, according to SRF.
