A first for the Pope: Francis has appeared in a Tiktok video for the first time. In the 40-second appearance, he thanks the Italian publicist Carlo Musso for his support as co-author of his autobiography "Hoffe" and leafs through the book.

At the end of the video, the Pope asks viewers to pray for him and promises to do the same for them. This is followed by an advertisement for the book, as reported by the Austrian news agency Kathpress.
The clip can be seen on the Tiktok channel of the Milan-based publishing house Mondadori, which distributes the original Italian edition "Spera". With its media brand "Vatican News", the Vatican uses all common social media, including X, Instagram and Tiktok, to report on statements made by the Pope and important events in the Vatican.
