Still looking for a last-minute Easter surprise? We love this little nest.
In anticipation of the weekend, "blue News" gives you the recipe tip of the week, with step-by-step instructions for a successful outcome.
This week's recipe is a homemade Easter basket. The best thing about it: not only can the contents be eaten, but the nest itself is also edible.
Ingredients for 6 nests:
- 6 tbsp butter
- 200 g marshmallows
- 250 g rice crispies
- Vegetable oil or melted butter to grease the tins
- 1 muffin tray
- For decoration: edible grass, sugar eggs, chocolate, etc.
Melt the butter over a medium heat and stir in the marshmallows until they are completely melted.
Place the rice crispies in a bowl and pour the liquid mixture over them. Stir carefully.
Grease the muffin cases with oil or butter and spoon the mixture into them and press down gently. This works even better if you also oil the spoon. The whole thing is quite sticky - don't be put off.
Leave to cool and then decorate with edible grass, chocolate and sugar eggs.
Variation: You could also dip the cakes in melted chocolate (the edges) or coat them with it.
