In temperatures of over 30 degrees, the time had come: US pop star Taylor Swift took to a Swiss stage for the first time on Tuesday evening at the Letzigrund Stadium in Zurich. The concert, which is still ongoing, began with support act Paramore, a US alternative rock band.

At 7.06 pm, the long wait came to an end and the curtain rose to thunderous applause from the audience. Dancers with huge petals came onto the stage and she blossomed in the midst of them: Taylor Swift.

She started with "Miss America & The Heartbreak Prince", followed shortly afterwards by the hit "Cruel Summer". Her audience greeted the US singer with a "Grüezi". The fans in the stadium cheered.

The "Swifties" stood outside the stadium from 10.00 a.m., suitably equipped to protect themselves from the sun and heat. The gates opened at 3.30 pm. 50,000 people were in attendance, the maximum capacity at Letzigrund, and judging by the English spoken, many even came from the USA.

Taylor Swift has been on the road for over a year on her "The Eras Tour", on which she sings material from her almost 20-year career in three and a half hours. The tour is considered the most successful in music history and has made Swift a billionaire.
