Elena Miras' sudden exit from the current season of "Promi Big Brother" caused quite a stir. The broadcaster Sat.1 decided to remove the 32-year-old from the container, citing its "duty of care".
An unexpected diagnosis
For a long time, it was unclear what was wrong with the Swiss woman. Now Elena Miras has shared details about her state of health with her 838,000 followers for the first time. The diagnosis: rheumatoid arthritis, an inflammatory joint disease that can be accompanied by severe pain. "The problem is, I'm still waiting for a dermatologist appointment, which I should be getting, but this is currently the disease I have and am currently treating," Elena explained in her Instagram story.
Weekly treatment
"I'm currently getting an injection for it every week," Elena continued. "And I have to say, it's already much better. My hands are no longer so badly swollen, but I still have a lot of pain at times." Her chest area continues to cause her problems, but the dose of medication is gradually being increased. "Until you reach a certain level where you can only wait and see. Then it is stopped again to see how the body reacts and whether it is better," says the TV star. The therapy is supposed to last six weeks, and the many doctor's appointments have already caused Elena to lose track.
