The Maison du Dessin de Presse museum in Morges (VD) is showing a selection of newspaper cartoons from the year 2025. Under the leitmotif "Collapse", the exhibition comprises almost 180 works by 37 artists from all over Switzerland.

Collapse can refer to the landslide in Blatten (VS), cities destroyed by war or the decline of democracy following Donald Trump's return to the White House. To illustrate this, the exhibition is presented in the form of a scenographic landscape of ruins in which the drawings are arranged chronologically.

The works of the illustrators review the highlights of current events, such as the tenth anniversary of the Charlie Hebdo attacks or the election of Zohran Mamdani as mayor of New York. Of course, there is a lot of focus on US President Donald Trump, his tariffs, his plans for world conquest and the Nobel Peace Prize.

The European Women's Football Championship, the violence in the cities, the famine in the Gaza Strip, the war in Ukraine, the death of Pope Francis and the imprisonment of Nicolas Sarkozy also come under the sharpened gaze of the cartoonists.

The exhibition runs until February 8, 2026 and is accompanied by a catalog. This comprises 93 drawings selected from the exhibited works.
