- Theresia Fischer is back in hospital. Her leg lengthening is "going into the next round", the model writes on Instagram.
- Starting in 2016, the ex-GNTM contestant had her legs lengthened by 14 centimetres through several operations on her upper and lower legs.
- Now the 32-year-old Fischer explains to the magazine "Bunte" what the purpose of the eighth operation in total is.
Theresia Fischer caused a stir five years ago on Heidi Klum's casting show "Germany's Next Topmodel" with her lively personality. Her leg extensions also caused a stir.
At the beginning of her career as a model, the 32-year-old was 1.70 meters tall, today she measures 1.84 meters.
From 2016, the Hamburg native had several operations on her upper and lower legs to lengthen her legs by a total of 14 centimetres.
Fischer now considers these operations a mistake, as she revealed in an interview with Bunte magazine a year ago. According to the model, she has spent almost 150,000 euros on the operations to date.
Fischer: "My leg lengthening is entering the next phase"
Theresia Fischer has now returned to hospital, as she writes on Instagram.
Pictures show the model lying in a hospital bed with both lower legs marked with two crosses each. Fischer writes: "It's that time again! My leg lengthening goes into the next phase."
The announcement of the new operation, entitled "Leg lengthening - Part 3", triggered astonished comments from followers.
Many asked whether Theresia Fischer would really have another leg lengthening procedure, even though she had recently been critical of her operations.
The long-awaited procedure "to remove the rods"
Theresia Fischer has now revealed the background to last Thursday's operation in the magazine "Bunte ".
The aim of the eighth operation in total was not to further lengthen her legs. Rather, it was the long-awaited operation "to remove the telescopic rods".
The metal rods had been attached to the bones in her lower leg, which had been split to lengthen the leg. "Finally everything is out of my body - what freedom," says Fischer.
Complications had prevented removal of the rods
Last April, Theresia Fischer announced in an interview with the magazine "Bunte " that she wanted to have the metal rods removed this year.
Painful complications had repeatedly prevented their removal.
Fischer suffered a further setback when she learned that her split fibula bones had not grown together as planned and, according to the doctors, this would never happen again.
The two shins now bear the entire burden. As everything had ossified there as planned, Theresia Fischer now decided to remove the metal rods, as they had repeatedly caused her problems in the past.
