Johnny Depp may have passed his peak as an actor. Earlier in his career, however, he received three nominations for "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Finding Neverland" and "Sweeney Todd". But he always came away empty-handed.

Margot Robbie has not yet won an Oscar either. She was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2018 for her role in "I, Tonya" - despite strong performances in films such as "The Wolf of Wall Street" and "Barbie", she has so far been denied the trophy.

In 2026, he is nominated for Best Leading Actor for the first time with "Blue Moon" - perhaps this time he will crown his career with an Oscar.

After 97 Academy Awards, there are of course countless losers. But some have gone home without an award more often than their colleagues. Here are the biggest losers.
No time? blue News summarizes for you
- The Oscars are the pinnacle of film awards; if you can secure one, your own market value in the industry increases immensely.
- However, countless older and younger actors and actresses have come away empty-handed so far - including one particularly bitter candidate.
- You can find most of the nominations without a win in the picture gallery.
Sometimes the public realizes that an actor finally deserves an Oscar. This is never actually the case, except for Leonardo DiCaprio. The US-American is and was considered one of the best actors of the modern era and yet he didn't win an Oscar for a long time.
The web could not understand this and so countless memes and initiatives were created to secure a golden manikin for the now 49-year-old.
The Academy bowed to the pressure and Leo finally won the Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role in the film "The Revenant" in 2016. Everyone knew it wasn't his best role, but the pressure was just too much.
In 2026, he is on the nomination list again for his role in "One Battle After Another". However, the competition is high-caliber: Timothée Chalamet is in the running with "Marty Supreme", Ethan Hawke with "Blue Moon", Michael B. Jordan with "Blood & Sinners" and Wagner Moura with "The Secret Agent".
You can find out whether Leonardo will take home another golden award on the night of March 16, 2026.
