The first tickets for the final week of the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel go on sale today at 10.00 am. Tickets can only be purchased by those who have registered in advance.
Including the rehearsals, there will be a total of nine shows, in the afternoons and evenings. Tickets cost between CHF 40 and CHF 350. The final will take place on May 17 at 9 p.m. in the St. Jakobshalle in Basel near the German border.
The most sought-after of the 60,000 or so tickets are likely to be snapped up quickly. However, the organizers have not yet released all tickets for sale. According to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), there will be further dates. In addition, there will later be a platform on which people who are unable to attend can resell tickets. "Tickets can only be resold at the original price printed on them," says the EBU.
Tickets for registrants only
People who have registered in advance will receive a code with which they can place their order for a maximum of four tickets on the ticketcorner.ch platform. In this way, the organizers want to prevent resellers from snapping up lots of tickets and selling them on later at a high price, as is the case at some concerts.
A total of around half a million registrations were received. The provider has since tried to filter out fake accounts and resellers. At the request of the German news agency DPA, Swiss radio and television did not say how many were left.
Public viewing
Without pre-registration, tickets will be available from January 30 for the public viewing, which will take place at the same time as the final on May 17 in the St. Jakob-Park stadium. There will be space for 36,000 fans. A 90-minute pre-show will take place before the broadcast of the final, featuring Baby Lasagna, among others. The Croatian singer took second place at ESC 2024 in Malmö with the song "Rim Tim Tagi Dim" behind the Swiss act of Nemo.
