Around three and a half years after the fatal shooting of a camerawoman during filming, the first trailer for the western "Rust" has been unveiled in the USA. Director Joel Souza said on Wednesday that he had "hesitated" about completing it.

However, he was convinced by the wish of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins' husband to show her last work to the public. Baldwin himself was not present at the film screening.
During the filming of "Rust" starring Baldwin in the US state of New Mexico, Hutchins was fatally shot by a bullet from a revolver held by Baldwin in October 2021. Hutchins, a former journalist from Ukraine, was considered one of the industry's rising stars. Director Joel Souza was injured by the same bullet.
Trial against Baldwin dropped
A trial against Baldwin for involuntary manslaughter was discontinued in July last year. However, Hannah Gutierrez, the gun master responsible for procuring the weapons on the film set, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for involuntary manslaughter at the beginning of last year.
The film had previously been presented at a film festival in Torun, Poland. Baldwin himself did not attend the premiere. It is unclear what role the actor will play in promoting the film, which will be shown in some US cinemas on May 2.
