A journalist sees a woman go overboard in the Ruth Ware adaptation - or does she? Millions around the world are watching this new movie starring Keira Knightley.

"A reporter on a luxury yacht watches someone fall overboard. But when no one believes her, she risks her life to uncover the truth": this is how Netflix describes its new hit film "The Woman in Cabin 10" starring Keira Knightley, which made it to number one in the streaming service's film charts shortly after its launch.

In the first three days after its launch (10.10.), Netflix registered 21.2 million views worldwide for the thriller, which is reminiscent of classics such as "Murder on the Orient Express" or "Death on the Nile". The plot is a classic whodunit thriller (Who did it?).

Did this murder really happen?

However, the top cast - with Guy Pearce, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Hannah Waddingham alongside Knightley - also received a lot of rather poor reviews. It is often said that the second part drags very slowly through the water.

The mystery thriller is based on the bestseller by Ruth Ware, which is set on a cruise ship instead of a yacht and is better able to maintain the tension. It is about a woman who witnesses a murder - but did it really happen?

British actress Knightley (40) had her breakthrough in 2002 with the British football film "Kick It Like Beckham", then also appeared in "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Love Actually... Love" as well as in "Pride and Prejudice" and "Colette".
