Charlotte Würdig, mother of two sons, has also experienced the painful side of pregnancy. She lost two unborn children, one in the 10th and one in the 14th week of pregnancy. The 46-year-old is convinced that women who suffer such a fate need more support.
"It can't be that so many suffer in silence"
Charlotte Würdig is now actively committed to this cause. "I thought to myself: Charlotte, you are a strong woman with a strong voice, you have to do something. It's your job. It can't be that so many suffer in silence and that you get such terribly insensitive comments that you shouldn't behave like that or that you could do something else," she told Bild. She herself experienced heartless treatment when she was in hospital for bleeding. "This thing can't be saved," she was told during the examination.
Charlotte Würdig wants comprehensive information
According to Würdig, there is insufficient information about the birth of star babies. "All kinds of things are meticulously recorded in the maternity record. Our weight, for example. Why couldn't it include an information sheet on what to do if bleeding and cramps occur? Which number to call. In general, that it can happen to lose your child. It's not about scaremongering, but about removing the taboo in view of the frequency." She also criticizes the term miscarriage, as it suggests that the woman has made a mistake, something she is constantly asking herself anyway as she tries to comprehend the incomprehensible. Charlotte Würdig faces a big task.
